Blog Response #4: Letting Go

Do you see connections between inquiry learning, instructional technology and great teaching?

Great teaching helps to get information across the students. After great teaching of lessons then leads to inquiry learning.  Inquiry learning allows students to learn about ideas for themselves.  Instructional technology is a concept of using technology items to incorporate the lessons that need to be covered by the teacher.  Great teaching and instructional technology both need to lead to inquiry learning by the students.

Reflective Searching

I am a confident and able searcher.  I do proceed with caution when allowing others to gain access to my information online.  I am able to retrieve the information I need without having to get help from a teen!  Yes, we are all members of the Google generation to a certain extent.  Teens and kids growing up these days are more accessible to the Internet.

My typical search pattern is known as a checking information seeker. I am a person who reads the first bits and pieces of the information to decide whether or not I need to continue reading the certain selection.  I am a little less capable of using the Internet as today’s teens.  The teens are able to connect and working quickly using the Internet and its resources.

Filter bubbles are mostly created by the search engines you use to create a search on information.  You can avoid them by searching on a different search engine each time you search or using a website called Duck Duck Go as a search median.

BLOG POST #2

Do these resources offer any insights or ideas related to your learning goals?

Yes, the blog post named Creating Classrooms We Need and the Journey from Digital Literacy have given me food for thought to help organize my technology ideas for my students.  Also, gives me ideas to use with my students that can enhance learning with using technology.

BLOG POST #1

I am Angelia Williams.  I am currently a stay at home mom. I was middle school teacher for 6 years in Paulding County, GA.  I received a Master's degree in Middle Grades Mathematics from Piedmont College.

One Learning goal is that I can learn of different teaching styles to teach technology to students.  Second learning goal is that I will be able to become a better researcher and learning online resources that are useful to me and the students.  I would like to be able to become more detailed researcher while taking this class this semester.
